Arches, Canyonlands & Moab Area
Moab is the hub for Arches and Canyonland National Parks. There are many great places to camp in and near Moab including the Sand Flats Recreation Area Campground, Highway 128 campgrounds along the Colorado River, and Ken’s Lake Campground.
Capitol Reef & Bryce Canyon Area
This large area features beautiful landscapes and stunningly large rock formations. Our favorite camping spots include: Goblin Valley State Park, Singletree Campground, Calf Creek Campground, and Kodachrome Basin State Park.
Zion National Park Area
The closest towns near this popular national park include Kanab to the East and Springdale to the Southwest. Camping is limited and fills up quickly! We recommend taking your camper to Ponderosa Grove Campground and the Watchman Campground in Zion.
Northeast Utah: Dinosaur National Monument & Flaming Gorge
In northeastern Utah, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest invites exploration for enthusiastic campers. Once you’re there, see sights on horseback or with backpacks and fishing rods. Enjoy a glimpse into Utah’s dinosaur past at sites near Vernal or catch a trout at Flaming Gorge and the Green River.
Dinosaur Monument & Vernal Area
Just three hours east of Salt Lake City is the small rural town of Vernal, which is the hub for Dinosaur National Park. Here you can camp, hike, bike, fish and more! Our favorite camping spots are Aspen Grove Campground at Strawberry Reservoir and the Green River Campground in Dinosaur National Monument.
Flaming Gorge & Green River area
Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and the Green River that flows behind the reservoir feature some of the world’s greatest fishing and boating. We recommend taking your camper to the Greens Lake Campground or the Lodgepole Campground.
Western Uintas & Mirror Lake
Only 90 minutes away from downtown Salt Lake City lies some of the most picturesque areas of Utah. Here you’ll find alpine camping, hiking and fishing. We suggest the following spots: Christmas Meadows Campground, Soapstone Campground and Ledgefork Campground.
Northwest Wyoming: Yellowstone, Grand Teton & Wind River Range
Northwest Wyoming is a tourist haven for those seeking stunning National Parks and recreation areas. Here you’ll find the legendary experiences of Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Shoshone National Forest, Jackson Hole and the Wind River Mountain Range.
Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park features a wide variety of wildlife and contains impressive geysers and hot springs, including Old Faithful. The park allows its visitors to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, fishing, and Ranger-led programs. Our favorite camping locations include Madison campground, Bridge Bay Campground and Lewis Lake Campground.
Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is located south of Yellowstone National Park and is an ideal place for rafting, biking, hiking, camping and fishing. A few of our favorite camping spots are Lizard Creek Campground, Jenny Lake Campground and Gros Ventre Campground.
The Wind River Mountain Range
The Wind River Range contains more than 40 named peaks over 13,000 feet, as well as seven of the largest glaciers in the Rocky Mountains. For those who want to explore this outdoor playground, we recommend Pinedale, WY as your gateway and suggest taking your camper or RV to the Whiskey Grove Campground, Narrows Campground or Boulder Lake Campground.
